We never sell your data. Zero ads. Zero tracking cookies. Your privacy is not our business model.
AvocAI is offered solely to users located in the United States. We do not target, market, or knowingly process personal data of individuals located outside the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the U.S., please discontinue use.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services:
Email address when you create an account
Purchase and subscription records (subscriptions are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase and reconciled via RevenueCat — we never see your card or Apple ID password)
Scan history when you are signed in: the AI verdict, grade, and an 80×80 px thumbnail of each scanned label, stored under your account so you can review past scans. Anonymous scans are not linked to any account and are automatically purged after 7 days.
AI scanner image processing: full-resolution photos are sent to AI providers (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI, via the Lovable AI Gateway) for analysis and are subject to their retention policies — typically 30–55 days — after which they are automatically deleted on their side. We do not retain the full-resolution image on our servers; only the 80×80 px thumbnail described above is stored, and only when you are signed in.

3. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
All data is stored in encrypted databases with row-level security
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never store credit card numbers or Apple ID credentials
Authentication is handled exclusively via Sign in with Apple. We never see or store passwords; Apple manages your credentials
Full-resolution scanner images are processed and not stored on our servers; only an 80×80 px thumbnail is saved to your scan history when you are signed in
We use only essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences (such as language selection). We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that profile your behavior.
4. Third-Party Services
We use a limited set of trusted third-party services:
for subscription billing, entitlement sync, and Restore Purchases
Secure cloud hosting with encrypted databases (Supabase)
AI services (Google Gemini and OpenAI, accessed via the Lovable AI Gateway) for product label analysis — subject to their respective privacy policies and retention windows (typically 30–55 days)
We do NOT use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracking services.

6. Children's Privacy
Our Platform is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data and scan history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all personal data — including your scan history, thumbnails, and any active subscription metadata — is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymous scans not tied to any account are automatically purged after 7 days. Full-resolution scanner images are not retained on our servers; the only image we keep is the 80×80 px thumbnail saved to your history when you are signed in. Purchase and subscription records are retained for legal and tax compliance purposes.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (CCPA / CPRA)
AvocAI does NOT sell personal information and does NOT share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Because we never sell or share your data, there is nothing to opt out of. If you believe your information has been misused, or you wish to formally exercise your right to know, delete, correct, or limit use of sensitive information, contact us at

CCPA / CPRA — Categories of Personal Information Collected
In the preceding 12 months, AvocAI has collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140), solely for the business purposes described in this Policy:
Identifiers: email address, Apple ID-derived user identifier
Commercial information: subscription status and purchase history (received from Apple In-App Purchase via RevenueCat)
Internet or other electronic network activity: basic session data, language preference, in-app interaction events necessary to deliver features
Visual information: photographs of product labels you choose to scan, plus the 80×80 px thumbnail saved to your history when signed in
Inferences: AI-generated grades, verdicts, and ingredient analyses derived from the images you submit
We do NOT collect: government IDs, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, health records, contents of communications, or information about race, religion, sexual orientation, immigration status, or union membership. We do NOT sell or share any of the categories listed above.
